Paints, stains and oils all exist for very good reason. And they’re amazing. Products like Rust-Oleum completely transform and bring new life to worn, rugged items and spaces. And I adore the hundreds of furniture painting tutorials out there across Pinterest and DIY blogs. However. Sometimes a little restraint is warranted. Some things have such charming character that they’re truly better off left alone. Like this adorable wood sofa recently upholstered by Allison of The Golden Sycamore.
I mean, as you know, I’m no expert. But there’s something about the scuffs, and the wood’s dark shade against the navy blue of the Premier Prints Ikat Dots Sunshine/Blue Natural Fabric she used for the (well-sewn) cushions. But Allison’s actually contemplating going a bit further with this piece. I say let it be.
What do you think? Should she should paint it? Buff it up? Or pull back those DIY reins on this one. Tell me your thoughts below then head over here and tell Allison too!
