Last September, my boys and I, along with my inlaws visiting from Sweden, headed to Welfleet, Massachusetts (Cape Cod) where we rented a house nestled on a woodsy hill. Off of that house’s open concept kitchen and dining room was a rustic screened-in porch with high ceilings. The space was casual; a table, cozy chair in the corner, a worn rattan sofa and a daybed. From the second I stepped into that space, I did not want to leave. It was just so soul-cleansing, the feeling of lounging like you’re in a living room, but with fresh fall air and sounds of the outdoors around you.
I get a similar feeling when I look at this patio/deck design by the incredibly talented Kristin of The Hunted Interior. It feels relaxing, yet immensely chic.

I love all of the strategic style choices she made. Her decision to have her furniture cushions upholstered in about 12 yards of Premier Prints Outdoor Vertical Ebony Fabric wasn’t too bad either.
